When I select a date for the service I want, all the dates are greyed out. Did I do something wrong? You did not do anything wrong. My schedule opens one month at a time, on the 1st of each month for the following month. If no dates are available, that means the dates are all booked up for the particular service you selected.
I don't see color on the service menu, do you provide color services? At this time, I do not provide color services.
How you should I arrive for my appointment? Please arrive with your hair worn down in it's naturally curly state, detoxed, conditioned, completely dry, throughly detangled and styled with curl friendly products to improve curl definition. I need to see your curls without any distortion. This means no braids, twist outs, braid outs, updo styles and no clips, combs, headbands, hair elastics or pins can be in your hair when you arrive. Nothing that will stretch or alter your natural curl pattern. Failure to do so can result in a detangle fee or rescheduling your service. Please no butters, oils, Cantu products, or Shea Moisture products. This will ensure that I give you the best cut possible. How do I detox my hair? Detox/clarify your hair at least 1 week prior to your scheduled appointment if you are using ANY products that are heavy laden with silicones, butters, oils, plastics, petroleum or lanolin in them. Examples of such product lines and products are: Shea Moisture, Cantu, Eco Styler, coconut oil, castor oil, olive, oil, shea butter, Herbal Essence, Aussie, Pantene, Tresemme or Garnier. It is vital to clarify your hair prior to your appointment if you are using those products. Use a curly hair friendly clarifying shampoo like Kinky Curly Come Clean or Malibu C Undo Goo to help you detox your hair. Doing the detox will help your hair get the best results from the hydrate and define service. Condition your hair using a water-soluable, botanical based conditioner. Some conditioners I recommend is Deva One conditioner, AG Naturals Boost, Innersence or MopTop. Style your hair so that your curls are as defined as possible using water-soluable, botanical based products. Refrain from using any products that contain silicones, butters, oils, petroleum or lanolin.
What can I expect during my first visit? My sincere desire is to partner with you during your healthy hair journey by educating, informing and guiding you to achieving your hair goals. The visit will begin with a consultation which we will discuss your hair goals, hair challenges and best practices given the current state of your curls. Once I assess the current condition of your curls we will proceed with the dry, curl by curl cut. After we have achieved the perfect silhouette for your curls, we will then move on to the hydration station where your curls are cleansed, conditioned and styled. After your curls have been properly hydrated, you will a sit under a hooded dryer to allow your curls to dry. Once completely dry, I will assess the haircut and make any necessary adjustments (if needed) so your haircut will be just right for you. You can expect to spend 2-4 hours (includes drying time) at the salon depending on the density and length of your curls. Please keep in mind if your curls are damaged from heat, chemicals or improper hair care practices your desired result may not be achievable with just one visit to the salon. Think long term here, healthy hair is a commitment and a journey.
Do you require a booking fee to secure an appointment? Yes. A 50% nonrefundable booking fee is required to book an appointment. Your card will be charged 50% of serviced booked when your appointment is accepted.
What is your cancellation/reschedule policy? Cancellation/reschedule for appointments less than 72 hours will result in loss of booking fee. 24 hour and same-day cancellations will be charged 100% of booked service. Non-cancellations or “no shows” will be charged 100% of booked service and will be required to pay a full non-refundable prepayment for all future appointments. In the event of 3 no shows, you will be banned from scheduling any appointments.
What if I’m running late for my appointment? If you are late 15 minutes or more, a $50 late fee will be applied and we reserve the right to change, reschedule or cancel your appointment. If you are late 30 minutes, you will be considered a "no show" and charged 100% of service booked.
Does your salon have Wi-Fi? Yes, we have complimentary wi-fi available for our guests while they are being serviced.
What forms of payment do you accept? I accept cash or credit card for services/tips.
